Today I had the realization that I need to learn an important lesson all over again. As a Peace Corps Volunteer you get those two words drilled into your head during training: patience and flexibility. On my first day, attending a workshop not directly related to my duties felt like a great way to ease-in to my job. By the third hour of the second day I’m starting to feel anxious. I want to get to work. I want to talk with the person I’m replacing so I can start to get a concrete idea of what needs to be done. I want to stop learning and start doing. I don’t want to be sitting in this room listening to somebody talk at me …
And then I remember where I am and that things here move at a different pace. I have time and everything will come together when it needs to. Patience and flexibility.
Relearning an important lesson

hahah….your impatience is probably also prompted by the fast speed that we were succumbed to back in hopkins. hang in there 🙂
