In the last few months two of my friends/colleagues have become new dog owners and therefore dog friends of Molly. They are Alfred who was adopted from the vet who’s about a year old, was adopted from the vet and recently discovered to be some mix of Norfolk Terrier, and Cupid a 6-month old Maltese puppy named by a 10-year-old girl. The three are pretty good doggy friends, despite the size differences. We three owners go to Pope’s Field (see that white structure in the back? It was built for the Pope’s visit quite some time ago, thus the name of the field) after work several times a week to get the dogs together. Cupid is just starting to get to the point where he’ll play with Molly and Molly has recently started retrieving the ball and bringing it back specifically for Cupid. Of course that works for me because it’s a lot easier to get the ball from a 6-month old Maltese than an 18-month old Lab. Not to mention it’s pretty adorable. Alfred, being the jealous dog he is, will chase Molly chasing the ball about half way, gives up and then tries to get the ball from Cupid. Actually, this picture depicts it the scene pretty well.
