Last week I was excited to see that one of my favorite digital designers was releasing a new kit with a gorgeous color scheme. (I am a huge sucker for blue and orange color schemes!) When it was finally released last Friday, however, I was disappointed to see that some of my favorite elements and word art used the plural instead of single (our/we vs. mine/me). This is a pretty common in the scrapping community and as somebody who’s single I decided it was time to stand up and say something about it. Also, because I feel like I “know” the designer from her participation in the Digi Show podcast I felt like she would be able to handle the feedback. So I went to her blog and got on my soapbox in the comments about how hardly anybody remembers us single scrappers when designing elements. Just a few hours later I had an email response from her saying that she had recreated some of the elements to meet my needs. How’s that for customer service? Of course I was going to buy the kit anyway because I think it is so stunning, but after that I felt inspired to use it right away. Using a template from another of my favorite designers all I had to do was was clip papers to the chevrons, replace a couple of items with elements from the kit and recolor some other elements. Wa la!
