Listening to the accompaniment to the finale of Bat Boy on repeat. I don’t know the last couple of songs as well as I know the rest of the music – yet. Performances are this weekend!
Recovering from two back-to-back visitors at work. We love having visitors so they can see what Lesotho is really like but, of course, it adds more work to what is already a busy time around here. Next week is team retreat and the week after that we’ll likely have visitors again. With a schedule like this it’s going to be the middle of December before I know it!
Watching a friends dog at home – Marshmallow – who is also a black lab. She and Molly are basically twins and also BFFs. MM also gets along well with Blossom, just like Molly. It’s been great having her during this super busy time when I haven’t been able to get home in time to walk Molly as much as I’d like.
Playing the piano as much as possible given rehearsals and long days at work. Reading music has come back to me more easily, I think, thanks to the work I’ve done putting together the music for our musicals. I’m trying to be rigorous in my approach to practicing by starting with drills and using a metronome to force me to learn the music and not just hash it out.
Reading “The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You’re Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are” by Brene Brown as quickly as possible because “Days of Blood & Starlight” by Laini Taylor – the sequel to “Daughter of Smoke & Bone ” was released on Tuesday and I’m dying to read it. (Plus, “Gift of Imperfection” is from the SL County Library Kindle system so I have to read it before the due date.) I’m significantly behind on my reading goals for the year and hoping to catch up over Christmas.
P.S. Two posts in one week? Clearly a lot on my mind.
