Exactly one week ago right now Maseru Players Company was having it’s final dress rehearsal for our second production ever (and second production this year) – “Bat Boy: The Musical.” To be honest before the dress rehearsal I was nervous if all of the work we put into the show would come together in time for our performance that night. The pressure of a live audience, however, really does wonders and everyone really stepped up their game. Both performances were a huge hit. My most favorite part of the show was the opening song of Act 2 – “A Joyful Noise.” I could not have predicted how the audience responded to it – they went NUTS. It was so awesome. Thankfully it was a scene where I could smile as broadly as I wanted because I couldn’t have kept a straight face even if I needed to. I’m so excited that the performance was captured on video but also nervous to see it. I most likely won’t share the video here on the blog, but leave a comment if you want me to send a link to you personally. 🙂
We started getting the question “When will you have your next show?” immediately after the Saturday night performance. This is the ultimate compliment. What audience members didn’t know is that discussion had already started amongst the producers along with the other big debate “will we do another musical or a play?” I like that the question is not “if” we’ll have a next production but “when” and “what”. I’m looking forward to whatever it is that comes next.
I would love a link to the video!
We think we’ll get the video next week, I’ll definitely send it along once I’ve got it!
