Each month we get sent a list of 8 or so assignments that will be featured on the blog the next month. We pick our top 5 and then get assigned 3 of those choices. I had this assignment in my top 5 choices, but it didn’t end up in my 3 assignments. This idea of using three blocks but with one element was already in my head, though, and I thought it would be an interesting twist on the assignment, so I submitted it anyway. This is something that you could easily do in either digital or paper scrapbooking; adding some interest to the single photo layout. In digital scrapbooking my picture wasn’t quite big enough to fit across the 3 blocks when I had it on a 12×12 canvas. Since I print in 8×8, though, I just adjusted the image size down and the picture worked perfectly. I do this from time to time when the pictures aren’t a high enough resolution for the look I want. Yay for the power of digi!
