The assignment: Make a page that incorporates the typewriter motif in a purposeful way. This could be big or small, one or more. There needs to be something of interest about what you’ve done, a reason or a technique or a compositional use.

When I saw the assignment I thought immediately of this kit that I had in my stash and really wanted to use. I’ve been kind of stumped by it because although I love the color scheme, I have a REALLY hard time actually using yellow. Design-wise I liked the contrast of using circles but with strong blocks of journaling on top. I thought that the typewriter motif would be a perfect compliment to a layout about lists – and there was the perfect challenge at Designer Digitals that helped me come up with the subjects of the list. (FWIW – I know that a microwave isn’t “traditionally” thought of as a gadget, but I ran out of gadgets I own and given how much microwave popcorn I eat it’s pretty fitting for me. :))
