GIS CT: Bracket

27/02/2014 by heatherawsumb

The assignment: Make a page with a BRACKET foundation. Take the ideas from the Scrapbook Coach Bracket class but implement them in a page that doesn’t look a lot like any of the pages in the class. You know how much I love Scrapbook Coach classes so this was a fun one for me to push me to design something similar but without actually using the classes as guides. Here’s my page:

Hello 2014 by Heather Awsumb | Candid by One Little Bird Designs; Sentiment Spots No 4, Pinned Tabs No 2, Vintage Milk Caps No 1, Ric Rac Basics No 1, Curled Journal Spots No 6, Flagged Dates No 5 by Katie Pertiet; Pronuncial by Just Jaimee; Up to Date by Jen Allyson; I Heart Stories by Ali Edwards; L'Amour Sparklies by Flerg

These are photos from New Years Eve in Madagascar; one of my favorite parts of the trip. I used the pink, navy blue and green from our clothes as inspiration for the color scheme and stamped out “2014” using them. Then, as I was looking through my supplies I saw that the color scheme of the “Candid” kit by One Little Bird was very close. Through the power of digi (aka an Adjustment mask) and a little tweaking of the green in the striped paper I had the perfect match!

The colors on this one are perfect! I love how you used a neutral on top of the chevron page to create a border… super fun!

I thought the label said “orage drunk”, which made me laugh. 😉
