GIS CT: Product Driven Process

11/06/2014 by heatherawsumb

I know, two days in a row of Get It Scrapped creative team pages! It’s just a coincidence that both assignments I took on were being published a day apart! Today’s challenge was to make a page where I start with a product in mind rather than photos or composition. Here’s the result:

Things Are Getting Crazy by Heather Awsumb | Supplies: Bermuda Triangle Kit by Pixels & Co.; Surf Lagoon Element Pack by Katie Pertiet; Going Places by One Little Bird.

I very rarely start a page with product only. The exception to this is themed product that inspires a story or some of my creative team (CT) assignments. Those CT assignments that rely on using particular product are a bigger challenge for me than others. For this page I started with the palm tree ephemera card by Scotty Girl Design that was part of the free collab at Pixels and Co. for International Scrapbooking Day. I picked it because I just liked it. Once I picked out the card I laid it out on my page and then started designing the composition around the card. I laid out everything except the title banner and wood veneer martini glass, those I added after I had picked my photos and story to reinforce my second motif of drinking/having a good time. I liked that this story about David trying the worst drink on the cocktail menu during our Madagascar trip isn’t pictures on the beach, but that the ephemera underlies a bach theme.
