Last day documenting my life. Phew! Low-key day too. Skipped out on all engagements and had time just to myself. I needed an introvert day. Went shopping for winter supplies (second comforter, heater, hair dryer and a Basotho blanket) and to the grocery store. That’s where the above picture was taken. Came home and caught up on my podcast listening (This American Life, Planet Money, NBC’s Meet the Press) and worked on my uber-nerdy organizing of iTunes. Molly got TWO walks today to make up for the lack of walks during the week. And that’s how I closed out the week. Definitely nothing exciting. 🙂

Today was a day full of meetings. PMTCT team meeting in the morning from 9:30 to 11:30, all staff team meeting in the afternoon from 3pm to 5pm and a program managers meeting after work at V & Sim’s house from 6pm to 9pm. That was about it.

The leaves are changing color! Captures this image in the parking lot of the Lesotho Sun this evening. Something about the lighting just made me want to take a picture. Ah, just another reminder that summer is firmly behind us. Was at the Lesotho Sun to meet coworkers for drink and talk about work. Before that I had a busy day with two meetings at the Ministry of Health – one in preparation for a meeting in Nairobi next week (I’m not going) and another working on a tool to track patients who miss appointments. Ended the day with microwave popcorn for dinner and watching this week’s episode of “Glee” on my computer.

Self-portrait of me at work. Spent a lot of time today coding qualitative data from the “Barriers to Facility Delivery” study. Interesting, but very time consuming, work. While coding, I was listening to my music on iTunes. Everything on shuffle. I thought it was funny that every third or fifth song was by the Indigo Girls. Funny, but not totally unexpected since I own every album they’ve ever done. Tonight I went to Hope & Jacob’s house to start a marathon viewing of “The Wire.” They own all five seasons on DVD, so the plan is to get together once a week and watch until we’re finished with all of them. In honor of the occasion, they lit their first fire in the fireplace of winter. So sad, but yet so fun.

Just another typical day in Maseru. Went to work, ran errands, had a confrontation with the company that provides my ADSL because their credit card machine isn’t working and I couldn’t pay my bill, had a good meeting with co-workers, walked the dog, made chili for dinner, caught up on “24” on my computer, and worked on putting together layouts for this project. I’m struggling to come up with enough pictures for the template set I was planning to use, but have been good about journaling so I’ll be looking into ways to edit the project to fit my lack of pictures.

Winter is definitely on it’s way, just in case you were wondering. Today started off cold and rainy and ended sunny and cool. Blech. I’m going to have to add another blanket soon and start pushing myself harder to get up and walk Molly in the mornings. The problem is that it is getting dark so early these days so I have to rush home from work to walk her, but it’s light very early in the morning. It’s just so hard to get up when you’re nice and warm in bed.

In other news, I took Blossom to get fixed today. She’s only 4 1/2 – 5 months old but I’m a big believer in family planning for cats so the earlier the better. Molly was really nice to her, even letting Blossom sleep in her inside bed.

I get a lot of questions about how Molly and Blossom get along. I think this answers them pretty well. Molly loves Blossom A LOT. Blossom, on the other hand? Does not love Molly so much. She does, however, love the stray kitties that hang around the house and even shares her food with them. Taking enough pictures to fill all my slots everyday for this project is going to be tough!
